TRIP TO RARA

Lost in paradise

Rara Lake is situated at the far west of Nepal. It is one of the denied regions of Nepal with delightful scene. Under Karnali zone, there are numerous lovely places to explore and Rara Lake is one of them. At the core of the Mugu District, it's a 2 hour stroll from the Talcha Airport. Since streets are developed, there are numerous alternatives to achieve this excellent place now. 

Talcha Air Port

This was my first go to western Nepal. I took a transport to Nepalgunj from Kalanki, it took 13 hour transport ride for me to achieve Nepalgunj. From Nepalgunj there is an every day flight to Talcha Airport. From the air terminal to Rara lake, the trail isn't that difficult. There is no tricky uphill or downhill.

Since it is a National Park, we need to enroll/register at an Army Check post to go to Rara Lake. 60 minutes of walking, we get the amazing glimpse of the lake and its shading influence you to feel like you are at the shore of some delightful ocean shoreline. From this place to armed force barrack enclosure and Danphe hotel/lodging is just about 1 hour walk. This trail is loaded with beautiful landscape. You will become mixed up in its magnificence. The armed force have restricted swimming in this lake, yet we saw a few people swimming and relaxing on the way. As we achieved the armed force dormitory, we are not permitted to take pictures around encampment because of security reasons.

After we register at army check point and cross the barrack area, we can take pictures .
