Beautiful Pygmy water-lily Flower
The pygmy water-lily (Nymphaea tetragona), also known as the dwarf water-lily, is a small but stunning aquatic plant that graces ponds, lakes, and water gardens with its delicate blooms. Unlike its larger relatives, this water-lily is compact in size, making it a perfect choice for small water features. Despite its miniature stature, the pygmy water-lily is just as enchanting as the grander species.Belonging to the Nymphaeaceae family, the pygmy water-lily is native to temperate and tropical regions across Asia, Europe, and North America. It thrives in still or slow-moving freshwater environments, where it spreads its round, floating leaves across the water’s surface.
Small, star-like, and usually white with a yellow center. Some varieties may have pink or pale yellow hues.Rounded, floating pads that are smaller than those of larger water-lilies, making them ideal for small ponds.Typically, the flowers reach about 2–5 cm in diameter, much smaller than traditional water-lily blooms.
