Story behind the photo #4 - Noir mood

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

This photo I had on my mind sincea  long time - to catch the mood of night in small streets of old town part in Trondheim,  called Baklandet. Narrow street is streching along the Nidelva river. Old school architecture and street cover take us back in time. That night was perfect - misty, foggy, rainy. The strret become shiny showing the stone coverage, foggy air reveal the beams of light. The only thing missing on most of my photos taken that night was a main subject.

This anonymous person, maybe a girl, maybe old gentelman, appear quite suddenly from nowhere, cycle up the street and perfectly feet in the frame which made my PhotoVision complete! I was lucky that night, I was happy to have this one shot done!

When I watch at this photo I like to think about this person - imagine stories about from where he is cycling, where is he going... what are his plans for the rest of the evening.  Maybe it is and older man, coming back from work, tired but full of positive energy, because he knows, that loving family waits for him at home... or maybe it is older woman, who is coming back from a nearest church graveyard, where she put the fresh flowers on the grave of her husband, died 20 years ago...

In one way, the mood is dark, heavy and sad but in other way - the cyclist riding through the light brings some hope and good energy to all.

Thanks for all comments and thoughts about the post. Hope You like it :).
