Resilient flowers
I was going through my old photos to see what would be good for sharing here, and found this. It is dated 3/24/11, thirteen days after the Japan earthquake. I was in Tokyo where nothing was permanently damaged, but we were all still in shock from the experience and waiting for trains, food supply, water supply, and electricity to get back to normal.
I remember why I took this: I was so impressed that nature could go on and produce beauty even after such a tragedy. I found much comfort that spring in seeing flowers bloom and trees bud and the fields produce new green shoots. I decided I needed to find joy in the small things, and this photo reminds me of that time and the resilience of nature and beauty.
