Window shopping in Inglewood Calgary and admitting to a guilty pleasure "watching HGTV on holidays"
No visit to Calgary would be complete without a visit to its famous district Inglewood. After days of carrying around bear spray , looking at a lot of pine trees and wearing hiking shoes, it was nice to spend some time in a city.
After many long days trekking and driving in the Canada we had decided to spend a few evenings tucked in bed watching "HGTV" - there isn't an equivalent station in Britain - it is a dedicated home renovation TV channel. I think it a total guilty pleasure when on holidays !
North American home renovation tv shows are much more aspirational and dreamy than British equivalents. HGTV includes both Canadian and US shows, but the one that Blondie and I really took to was "Fixer Upper" with Chip and Joanne Gaines from Waco Texas.
In Inglewood I felt like we had a found a shopping district that Joanne from Fixer Upper would definitely shop at.

We both really loved this plant shop. It was just a pity we couldn't pick any and take them home back to London ! http://plantshop.ca/
