Rainbows Can Pierce Through the Gloomiest of Clouds

Rainbows

The presence of gloomy and dark clouds in the sky often evoke feelings of sadness or depression in people. Certainly when I walk through the streets of my city under towering clouds and through endless shade, I feel quite sad, though sometimes I can't even pinpoint what I'm sad about. Maybe I miss the warm, golden rays of the sun touching and invigorating my skin, or maybe the connotation of dark clouds to thunder and rain make me perceive them negatively.

Though gloomy clouds have always had this overwhelming ability to strengthen the sadness in us, they can always be overpowered themselves by a gift of nature: a rainbow. Rainbows are created through the combination of the golden sunlight we yearn for and the cool water the clouds consist of, to create a magical and colorful band cutting through the sky and ending on the horizon.

We shouldn't give way to our negative or "cloudy" thoughts when they pop up; instead, we should simply observe them and wait for the rainbow that pierces them apart. After all, the cold water needed to make the rainbow already exists in those gloomy thoughts, so all that's left is the warm sunlight! Simple positive or happy parts of your day can help push along the creation of this golden sunlight, and all is ready we are left with the most beautiful and extravagant of rainbows.

Thank you for reading my tale about rainbows.

All images in this post are my own. We had quite a rainbow in our backyard today, and it gave a nice contrast to the gloomy and dark clouds we had been seeing all afternoon :)
