First: This beautiful city Berat also called the city of thousands of windows. Founded 314 BC by Greeks. But they found dwellings from 2600 BC The cityscape today is characterized by ottoman architecture and it's a UNESCO World heritage since 2008. There are three important parts of the old city: Mangalem, Gorica and Kalaja.

Today I will tell you about the part Gorica. In this part was my hostel I slept. The importance building is just a Monastery from 1864. This part of the city is zoned with the river Osum. Further there are just a bridge with wood. In 1780 they built a ottoman stonebridge named Ura e Goricës. A legend told that for this bridge a girl have sacrificed to placate the ghosts of the river.
Oh, you can make a small 1 hour hiking to the top of the hill. There are a ruin of a castle.
