Another place to visit if you enjoy history and old architecture like I do is Dapeng fort (大鹏城).

Dapeng fort is located just outside of Shenzhen proper in Dapeng district and is easily accessible by bus (take number E11 from Baoan North station to Dapeng and change to bus M471 to Dapeng Suocheng)
