Asakusa, Tokyo, Fruits - Some Photos for y'all
Hey y'all so I snapped some photos to and from this new vegetable market I checked out in Asakusa lemme narrate this experience through amusing captions-
The Kaminarimon
So Actually that isn't the Kaminarimon , well it is, but it's the temple side, the proper main HUGE lantern is on the other end (I'll snap a photo of it another day !)
Anyway
I was walking through the temple grounds to get to this new market like I was saying and jeez... I wanted to share the myth... yes it is true ... the myth of the hyper expensive Japanese fruit. That being said... it actually is worth it, in that ... its amazing. I've delved into fruitarianism and cycle through it when I have the means ( whether financial or if the fruit available is quality )
Well shit this is first place I've lived where the fruit is all always amazing, yet just so damn expensive. I've been researching farms to order from directly, I've found some I like, but it will take a while to find my favorites.
Yes each melon costs ¥4000 (Like $40 but not really since USD is a bit stronger than da JPY)...
Though these are cheap ... only ¥100 each (Like $1, but not... ya get it now?) But really they are not sweet, if you like the hydration of cucumber then enjoy! They are great on salads, but I enjoy them just as a snack on their own. Here's an enormous daikon (radish)
Also, I saw this cute jam I wanted to snap a pic of, alas - I passed on the purchase this time (I just stole its essence through digital photo BWAHAHAHA)
