More Spring Flowers and Gardening
It is back to raining and overcast today, but it has been sunny a lot recently and the flowers are all still growing nicely.
Here’s a close-up of some of the flowers on the trees where I like to walk. The color was enhanced by Google Photos:
Here’s another view of the trees. Someone has planted many of these flowering trees all over a lot by the side of the path. I’m not sure what type they are but they look wonderful this time of year. The photo color was enhanced by GIMP:
Here’s the wide angle view of the same photo, where you can see the walking path. It is paved and wide enough to drive cars on but they are not permitted here, except in emergency. The were several rabbits along the path in this area. They usually freeze in place hoping that Dog-oh and I don’t see them and then go bounding off into the bush if we get too close.
Garden Update
Here’s some of the blue flowers growing in the front garden. I like the color and find it very meditative to look at.
Below is a picture of the garden containers on the back porch.
I really like these garden containers and have already harvested a lot of good food from them. (Mostly from last season) The lettuce grows really well and it is easy to keep things watered by pouring water down the tube until it runs out the bottom. A reservoir in the container keeps enough water so that the plants don’t need frequent water and yet aren’t over-watered.
Having the containers up on the porch helps keep the slugs an snails off of the garden plants and you can easily move the containers around if the weather changes.
The front garden has been doing very well too. I have been filling up the potato bags with soil as they have been growing. It looks like the potatoes will produce a lot this year.
The fig tree survived the winter and didn’t die back to ground level or anything. There are actually two tiny figs on it and some new leaves coming out. It is pleasantly surprising considering how small the tree is and the fact that it was just planted near the end of the last growing season.
Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S9+.

Spring flowers begin to break
The color is cheerful, adorns the world
Also the dew that fell on the tip of the leaf
Bring the cool in the beautiful morning
You're the one sitting on the other end
It seemed to be a spring in my world
Treat each heart with a new color
The smile that you present As a bud begins to grow
Look fresh though seem shy embarrassment
Your eyes gaze at me
Just like the morning sun light
Light up the world but its warm never hurt
I must be color-blind—those ‘meditative, blue flowers’ look, positively, purple to me!
Whatever they are, they exude serenity. First pics remind me of one of my faves by Van Gogh:
Almond Blossom, 1890
The color varies a lot depending on the monitor, camera and lighting. My prior post has a picture with the same flowers in a vase taken indoors in the sunlight, it looks much more purple to me. There is a nice large patch of these flowers in the yard and I like gazing at them under different lighting conditions. I don't think your color blind, it can vary a lot.
Nice picture from Van Gogh - I had not seen that one before.
Phew Relieved I passed the eye exam, as I've just gotten a new prescription :) I'm no photographer, by any stretch of imagination, but I take snaps, here and there, and know that Light is like an invisible coloring brush. My favorite hour is twilight, when it seems like the entire sky is a vast palette, the colors all being mixed. There's something enchanted about this hour, particularly the softer quality of light, as though the day were reflecting upon itself (between the too-sharp glare and busyness of the sunlit work day and mystery of the dream-ushering moon...)
Glad you enjoyed Van Gogh - he's full of surprises :)
NB - Speaking of the delight of light, here's a related poem I just posted that I hope you might enjoy

Some really lovely shots, Lightsplasher. Your garden is doing well and you will be snacking on it before you know. I think those flowered trees are probably apple or if you live someplace warmer ... maybe almond. But I would go with apple. You will have to go back in the autumn and see what grows:)
I think apple is more likely - I think it is too cold here for almond. Sometimes the trees just flower and nothing grows on them though. I always like to get the apples myself but I guess some people don't like to have to harvest the fruit. I'll try to remember to look in the fall. Thank you.
@lightsplasher of your potato plant is very little why do not you plant with a lot of @lightsplasher
@lightsplasher apakabar you are now @lightsplasher hope you are healthy always so i can see your good post, and i await you in my post @lightsplasher, hopefully i continue to be friends @lightsplasher, best wishes lightplashe
These are just a couple of the smaller containers with lettuce and other vegetables growing. I have a larger garden in the front yard. There are several bags growing potatoes too but they are not shown here in this picture.
How are my friends today I will always follow about my friend's post, because many things I find very useful fan of gardening.
I will wait for his next photo on potato plants in the garden of my friend @lightsplasher I also really like gardening hopefully my friend @lightsplasher always successful in gardening that my expectations.
@lightsplasher, means you are a liked plants like farmers, such as my life that hifuo with the results of agriculture, I am waiting posts @lightsplasher next, we wish your plants fast harvest,
Amazing, an interesting sight. your creativity inspires me.
I like apples, in my area no one is planting apples.
Me too, apples do really nicely around here. There are many different varieties that are produced locally. My apple trees don't look like they are going to fruit this year though.
I hope your apple will be fruitful, and harvest foam a lot, sehungga can friends share for us here ..
Perhaps the right pollinator is not around or they are a gender specific plant. Otherwise fruit should appear ... sometimes the fruit can be very small. And with that ... I am out of ideas:)
Actually I went back today and it looks like some of the trees have some small fruit on them left from last season. I tried one but there was not much taste to it and I didn't know what it was, so I spit it out. Maybe they are some sort of native cherry tree.
Will have to try the fresh harvest this summer:)
I love the pink little ball thingies on the white flowers! The S9 does a nice job really!
Looks like everything is nice and green there! We had our few days of summer like weather and have dipped into fall, or so it feels! We went from 70's and 80's to 40!!!! Plus rain rain rain. The grass is growing like crazy!
Your crops are growing nicely. Do you ever use green onions. This is what I do to always have some on hand. It is from last year, but it really works nice and its nice to have some green on my windowsill.
https://steemit.com/funny/@old-guy-photos/free-onions
The onions will usually survive the winter around here, so I have them planted all over the yard. Sometimes we buy them and don't use them all up before they kind of go bad in the refrigerator. Usually if I plant them they will perk right back up and start producing more greens. I like eating them fresh from the garden if they are available - they taste a lot better. I have a few green onions going to seed right now. I'm planning to spread those around the yard some more, we love having them available to eat.
I want to inquire about the onion crops at the time of the season what kind of onion is suitable for the winter season what summer my best friend @lightsplasher, hopefully my friend always succeed in gardening that is my hope
wow, blooming apple blossoms are so beautiful, I really like the way this image is taken and by using google edits #snapseed. very nice work my dear friend @lightsplasher.
Thanks. Actually, I don't think these are apple blossoms, although they look similar. The flowers on the trees give off a slightly stinky oder. Some of the fruits left over from last year seem to look more like a cherry but it hard to tell.
samsung Galaxy S9 + you always produce a very good and satisfying image, even I become jealous and salute with you friend @lightsplasher.
blue color is also my faforit, i really like the beautiful blue flower @lightsplaser
