Today, I would like to share another beautiful place of Hamburg, the nature reserve Eppendorfer Moor, the biggest mire within an european city.

The Eppendorfer Moor arose during the last ice age and it is only 35 years under conservation, to secure more than 300 different plant species.

It definitely counts as one of my favourite spots to take a walk outside, everything looks so enchanted to me.

At first I didn't even saw the duck couple looking for something to eat, in the moldy, nutritious lake.

Since the mire does not have a natural water supply anymore it's threatened by dry periods, only being kept alive by the city of Hamburg and the NABU ("Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union"), I really hope the area will survive as long as possible and that many more people get a chance to visit it.
