Fly fishing in the Cascades
Last weekend Jake, Collin and I headed into the Cascade range in central Oregon to target the voracious Bullhead Trout. We arrived at the Metolious river to target Bullhead trout in this fly fishing only river. We grabbed our rods and streamers after we put on our waders and made our way down to the fishing hole in the 28 degree weather.
We fished through the day, mingling bank fishing and fishing from in the river, thouroughly enjoying the peace and quite that the Metolious river provides. Collin hooked and lost two nice size Bullies. Jake and I were fruitless in our search for Bullies but between the two of us we landed seven nice sized Kokanees. At the end of the day even though none of us landed the fish we were looking for we still appreciated the beauty afforded to us by living in the PNW.

At the end of the day, even though we didn't land what we were looking for, it's hard not to say that any day on the river is a good day.
