• The planet Earth I mean is the moon, one of the fifth largest planet earth in the solar system. The moon is the brightest sky after the sun. The Moon's orbital distance from Earth today is about thirty times the diameter of the Earth, causing the Moon's size to appear in the sky almost as large as the size of the Sun, thus allowing the Moon to cover the Sun and result in a total eclipse.
• The moon is estimated to form about 4.5 billion years ago, shortly after the formation of Earth. Although there are a number of hypotheses about the origin of the Moon, the most accepted hypothesis today explains that the Moon is made up of fragments released after a mart-sized celestial body colliding with the earth.
