Photographs of the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami - 1st Part - Landscape and Plants.
On my last trip to the city of Miami, Florida, I visited the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
This Botanical Garden was established by Robert H. Montgomery in 1936 and opened its doors to the public in 1938. It was named in honor of David Fairchild, a good friend of Robert H. Montgomery and also one of the greatest explorers of plants in the world. Many of the plants in the Botanical Garden were brought and planted by Dr. Fairchild himself.
It occupies a large area of land, 34 hectares and has an extensive collection of strange tropical plants, floral trees and more.
In spite of being just a selection of all the ones I took, there are many photographs so I decided to divide them into 3 groups. The first group is a selection of the "Landscape and Plants" photos. The second group is a selection of photos of the "Flowers". By the way, the collection of orchids in this Botanical Garden is impressive. And the third group is dedicated to animals. There is an impressive butterfly house on site as well as the "local animals".
