[ENG-SPN] Lotus-Lotae / Loto-Lotae

In Ancient Egypt, apart from being one of the attributes of the Goddess Isis -whose veil has not yet been contemplated by any mortal- she was also called 'wife of the Nile', due to her abundant appearance on the surface of this vital river, with each flood.

Much more poetic, although no less cryptic, Homer presented it to us, within the cycle of adventures of the legendary Ulysses, as the primordial food of lotus eaters, whose intake made life and its sorrows forget, which, for the times that run, it is still a beautiful consolation.

En el Antiguo Egipto, aparte de ser uno de los atributos de la Diosa Isis -cuyo velo, todavía no ha sido contemplado por ningún mortal- se la denominaba, también, ‘esposa del Nilo’, por su abundante aparición en la superficie de este río vital, con cada crecida.

Mucho más poético, aunque no menos críptico, Homero nos lo presentó, dentro del ciclo de aventuras del legendario Ulises, como el alimento primordial de los lotófagos, cuya ingesta hacía olvidar la vida y sus penas, lo cual, para los tiempos que corren, no deja de ser un hermoso consuelo.
