Witness History: #3 - Car crash in Washington D.C / 1921
Washington D.C. 1921
Todays picture shows the scene of a car crash in Washington DC. It is utmost interesting to see how colors can change our perception of a scene, especially in photographs from a time that we rarely get to experience in color. The whole atmosphere of this candid shot seems so realistic and used to, but still the subject tells a different story. It is always good to remind ourselves that, back in the day, not everything was just black and white.
I am starting a new series about historic photographs, titled "Witness History", in which i will show and comment some of the photographs from my collection. The goal is to deliver an insight into the events that led to today. Every photograph will be accompanied by additional informations and explications. If you are interested in this series, feel free to follow me and stay up to date on my newest posts.
Cheers, Jimmy
