Your bug is a butterfly.
I think this one is in the Skipper Family, although without seeing the inside of the wings I can't tell you the exact species.
I was told it was some type of moth but I honestly have no idea. Which is why I went with bug...
Not a moth, although it could be easily confused for one because of the colors. Butterflies always have clubbed antennae, moths do not.
