ISO is King! (LMFAO Photo pass) --------- Photo tip #2

As a photographer who spent many years shooting concert images in low lighting situations, it became obvious to me early on as to what I felt to be the most important factor I should consider when choosing a new camera. Photographers are constantly having to debate about the reason why they chose either a Canon or a Nikon to anyone who is shopping for a new camera and wants advice, there are literally countless reasons why one could choose either company. So every time somebody would ask me what kind of camera they should buy, I basically would tell them whatever camera was the cheapest and ultimately whatever camera gave the best ISO for the price, from my perspective technically would be the best deal for a camera. People do not need 36 megapixel cameras because the average person is not going to be printing 36 megapixel images considering most people do not shoot photos to post on the side of a bus stop or for a movie poster, at the end of the day what should be the most important factor when considering buying a new camera is what camera will put out the most ISO to better help capture low lighting situations.

There are so many moments having extreme ISO is necessary whether it is capturing somebody blowing out candles at a wedding or a birthday party or when photographing Marilyn Manson cause he likes to make photographers shoot in the dark just to mess with them. The fact remains, the most colorful and detailed images are available to the photographers who have the best ISO range to capture Dynamic lighting at Live Events. In this instance my ISO is well over 12,000 and my shutter speed is about 1/ 80. Flash at a concert is not only frowned upon, in most instances using a flash at a live show can result in a photographer being thrown out of the photo pit! With out extreme ISO capturing a guy in the dark trying to taste champagne the artist is using to spray the crowd is very difficult however ramp up that ISO and this kind of image suddenly becomes totally possible.

Tip # 2 ISO is you're best buddy, shop for it and love it, ISO will never leave you alone in the dark ;p
