Bronze lanterns, Kasuga-taisha shrine, Nara
Nara is a beautiful place, home of numerous architectural and religious marvels, perfectly blending with nature. This picture was taken in the Kasuga-taisha (春日大社) shrine, famous for its lanterns.
It is just a sneak peek of the longer post I am currently writing about our day in Nara ; it's nearly done, I would say 70%.
Expect to see temples, shrines, trees, deer, and of course more lanterns, be it in stone or bronze!
💡 Trivia bit: Did you know that since bronze does not contain iron, it does not rust? However, bronze and brass turn green over time because of chemical reactions between the copper in those alloys and the atmosphere. (source: Google/Quora)
