Stars and Peace above the clouds

This summer I got really good shots. I took the picture below when I was in La Palma at the Observatorium Roques de los Muchachos. I've been fascinated by the beauty and the imaginations a view up to the stars and the milky way, since I started reading the biggest science fiction series in the world, Perry Rhodan.

Can you really imagine we are alone out there? Just think about the billions of stars only in our milky way, and lets imagine 10% of them have planets (I don't know how much stars do in fact have planets). And then think about the billions and billions of galaxies in the universe. I'm quite sure we are not alone in this universe, and that's what let me have hope for mankind. When a different species appears and all peoples, all countries all people see that we are in fact all the same with the same wishes and hopes, we could live in peace.

I took the picture with an exposure time of 30 seconds ISO 100 and f 2,8 with my Nikon D3100. I was really surprised when I realized how much residual light there is around us even though the canaries have law against light polution and I took the picture about 3 hours after sunset.
