Island Life: Underwater Photography

This last week being back on island and back in the water has been nothing short of magical! I don't know if it was the reset from being out of the water for the week or the fact that I've been spending some of my days with people who genuinely enjoy the water as much as I do but I can't seem to get into the water without encountering a friendly sea turtle or spying rare aquatic life that are trying be much more elusive.

Other than being lucky enough to possibly be the first person in over a decade to see a Manatee in the US Virgin Islands, I've still been working on my underwater photography in my free time. Here are a few shots I thought those of you in the Steemit community might like!

This picture is especially interesting because it captures both a spotted moray eel and a chain moray eel cuddled up together under this rock pile...

Incase you missed my last post about the manatee in Saint Croix here are some of the photos.

I also brought my spear gun back to island with me, we haven't spent too much time in the water hunting yet but we have been on the look out. Checked out a few new spots over the weekend hoping for signs of some bigger game fish like Mahi or Mackerel... We didn't have much luck in that department but we were able to remove a few invasive Lion Fish from the reef. Hopefully luck will be on our side this coming weekend!

There is magic in these waters, my heart is so full spending my weeks this way. I recommend this life to anyone.

The world in the benthic part of the ocean is really fascinating

Really nice post bro!
I've done about 110 scuba dives and more than 500 freedives… I love everything underwater.
I want to ask for a favor, just if you have the time and want to…
I made a post with photos of every kind of fish I have seen around the Mazunte, Oaxaca, Mexico beaches and need some help giving them names… I don't know most of the names.
So, any name would be appreciated!
Thanks a lot! :)
Gonna follow you to see more underwater photos :)
