When it comes to making the choice of camera, it depends on your budget and also the type of photography you want to do. However, there are also a lot of accessories available to help enhance your photography skills. Items like the camera flash and tripod are very essential and it is advisable for you to get them as a photographer.
CAMERA PHONE
The lens is fixed and you may tend to have little or no control over exposure. It can be carried about at all time because of its portability.

COMPACT CAMERA (BASIC)
It has automatic controls which makes it an ideal camera to use and also its zoom range is extremely wonderful.

With its manual and automatic controls, it gives room for better manipulation and creative controls. Thr lens are also interchangeable.

- It captures images in both RAW and JPEG formats
- It has a viewfinder
- The lenses are interchangeable
- The sensor is of high quality
SUPERZOOM CAMERAS
This type of camera has the DSLR features, and also manual features with a high range zoom lens capability.
FUNCTIONALITY
- The lens is non-interchangeable
- Combines both manual and automatic shooting modes
- It gives room for creative controls
- Enables DSLR mode of handling
DSLR CAMERAS
This is the most widely used camera in the photography world today. DSLR are very portable and are very affordable to buy.
FUNCTIONALITY
- Capture RAW and JPEG format
- It has full frame and sub-full-frame sensor sizes
- You can have full manual control of your photography
NOTE
For DSLR and CSC, if you decide to invest in them you should also have it at the back of your mind to get some wide range of lenses, flash units and other accessories such as a tripod, memory cards, and extra batteries. Get a camera bag also.
