Naturaleza para iniciar una buena historia

Hay una clara fascinación cuando se llega por el mar a un país, una ciudad o un poblado. Este encanto es mayor cuando se accede a un pueblo situado entre montañas como es el caso de Santa Fe, poblado también conocido como Los Altos de Sucre, en Venezuela.

Este pueblo fue privilegiado por la naturaleza con grandes fuentes de riqueza. En la actualidad sus habitantes viven del turismo, la pesca y la agricultura.

A lo largo de la costa que lleva a Santa fe encontraremos hermosas formaciones rocosas. La foto que a continuación les dejo señala la llegada al pueblo; pareciera que la naturaleza se encargó de dar la forma para iniciar una historia.

There is a clear fascination when a country, a city or a town is reached by sea. This charm is greater when accessing a town located between mountains such as Santa Fe, a town also known as Los Altos de Sucre, in Venezuela.
This town was privileged by nature with great sources of wealth. Today its inhabitants live from tourism, fishing and agriculture.

Along the coast that leads to Santa Fe we will find beautiful rock formations. The photo that I leave below indicates the arrival to the town; it seems that nature was in charge of giving the form to start a story.

Allí puso también los eternos vigilantes.Santa fe está llena de bandadas de pelícanos, parsimoniosos y elegantes, generosos, en la amplitud de sus inmensas alas, que les permiten alcanzar grandes alturas; con lo que brindan a la vista de quienes los siguen el espectáculo de sus magnificas caídas en picada, en las que logran velocidades que los hacen salir siempre victoriosos en su pesca.
No es preciso ser ornitólogo para maravillarse con el comportamiento de los pelícanos: Son aves románticas, que buscan la compañía, que enamoran a sus parejas abriendo y cerrando sus coloridos picos y lanzando al aire ramas y peces. Son seres inteligentes que, aunque ariscos, han comprendido los beneficios de estar cerca de los pescadores.

Es muy recomendable estar en la bahía cuando sale el sol, disfrutar de los matices en azul del mar y en verde de las montañas. A esa hora, temprano en la mañana, y cerca de las cuatro de la tarde hay gran actividad entre los habitantes de los cercanos pueblos. Pescadores, campesinos y agentes de turismo convierten al pueblo en centro de intercambio.

It is highly recommended to be in the bay when the sun rises, enjoy the nuances in blue of the sea and in green of the mountains. At that time, early in the morning, and around four in the afternoon there is great activity among the inhabitants of the nearby villages. Fishermen, peasants and tourism agents make the town a center of exchange.

Vemos acercarse Santa fe. En esta ocasión las nubes juegan con el mar para darnos una guía para centrar la mirada.
Aparece su costa mostrando sus posadas y sus playas como una invitación al turista.
Desde allí quien quiera puede visitar múltiples formaciones de arrecifes coralinos y disfrutar la presencia casi constante de manadas de delfines que atraviezan la bahía.

We see Santa Fe approach. On this occasion the clouds play with the sea to give us a guide to focus the gaze.
Its coast appears showing its inns and beaches as an invitation to tourists.
From there, whoever can visit multiple coral reef formations and enjoy the almost constant presence of herds of dolphins that cross the bay.

La Playa Cochaima es su playa emblemática , es de las playas más hermosas y tranquilas que tiene el estado Sucre. De poca profundidad, a sus orillas los niños pueden mirar minúsculos peces, en las cristalinas aguas, mientras hunden sus pies entre la blanca arena.

Cochaima Beach is its emblematic beach, it is one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in the Sucre state. Shallow, on their shores children can watch tiny fish, in the crystal clear waters, while they sink their feet among the white sand.

Es el lugar de esparcimiento de lugareños, foráneos asiduos y ,por supuesto, de turistas ansiosos del rumor del mar.

It is the place of recreation of locals, regulars and, of course, tourists eager for the rumor of the sea.

Santa Fe es un pueblo turístico pero también es una zona privilegiada para la agricultura, está en las cercanías del Embalse Turimiquire y se ubica al borde del Río Neveri. De sus conucos, sus parcelas, sus campos altos bajan los campesinos a ofrecer sus productos en el mercado, allí se unen con los pescadores y los productores artesanales.
El pan tradicional venezolano, el casabe, que se produce en esta zona, a partir de la yuca amarga, tiene una textura un color y un dulzor inigualable.
Santa Fe is a tourist town but it is also a privileged area for agriculture, it is near the Turimiquire Reservoir and is located on the edge of the Neveri River. From their conucos, their plots, their high fields, the farmers go down to offer their products in the market, there they join with the fishermen and the artisanal producers.
The traditional Venezuelan bread, casabe, which is produced in this area, from bitter yucca, has a color texture and a unique sweetness.

Este post está dedicado a los niños de Santa Fe.
Existen dos razones para ello:
Por una parte porque no hay mejor visión que verlos correr entre las aguas para subirse y bajarse de los botes (propios y ajenos) para vivir y habitar el mar.
Esos botes son sus parques infantiles.
Allí aprenden a nadar; son los hermanos mayores los entrenadores.
Allí sueñan, tal vez mirando a los turistas, con mejores oportunidades de vida.
El mar es su escuela y su hospital también.
Allí son libres de regaños y encomiendas de adultos.
Todos los niños del mundo merecen un pedazo de mar y los de Santa Fe son afortunados al tenerlo.

This post is dedicated to the children of Santa Fe.
There are two reasons for this:
On the one hand because there is no better vision than seeing them run through the waters to get on and off the boats (own and others) to live and inhabit the sea.
Those boats are their playgrounds.
There they learn to swim; The older brothers are the trainers.
There they dream, maybe looking at tourists, with better life opportunities.
The sea is his school and his hospital too.
There they are free of scolding and parcels of adults.
All the children of the world deserve a piece of sea and those of Santa Fe are fortunate to have it.

La otra razón es que, aunque todo lo descrito hasta ahora, siendo verdadero, no es sino una ilusión, cuando nos adentramos en las calles del, pueblo y miramos la precariedad anclada a la vida de los habitantes de Santa Fe como un sino fatal.

Hay una gran contradicción entre las limpias aguas del mar y la ausencia de agua en los acueductos, entre la velocidad como el mar enseña sus secretos y la lentitud del trabajo en la escuela. También entre el brillo , casi enceguecedor del sol y la ausencia de alumbrado público por la noche... Entre la riqueza de la tierra y la pobreza generalizada de los hombre sobre ella.

!Puede la realidad ser tan diversa!

The other reason is that, although everything described so far, being true, is nothing but an illusion, when we enter the streets of the town and look at the precariousness anchored to the life of the inhabitants of Santa Fe as a fatal fate.

There is a great contradiction between the clean waters of the sea and the absence of water in the aqueducts, between the speed as the sea teaches its secrets and the slowness of work in the school. Also between the brightness, almost blinding of the sun and the absence of street lighting at night ... Between the richness of the earth and the widespread poverty of men over it.

Can the reality be so diverse!
