Regardless of the season, people climb up the mountain to Geamana, where there is a huge steil ditch covering the Sesi Valley. More than 30 years ago, almost nothing was known about Geamana in the Apuseni Mountains. Now the world asks for the "sunken village", becoming a tourist destination, especially for foreigners. Residents in nearby areas already know what to answer when a car stops right, without having to ask questions. "Do you want to come to the sunken church?" The tailings pond covered the village of Geamana, with the 400 houses, turned into the main attraction in Lupşa commune. All that remains in the village where over 1,000 souls live is the tower of the church. The rest is under water. The red and green shades found around the lake lakes in Roşia Poieni, win a certain photographer and tourists coming to see the "miracle". Few are the ones who think more about the suffering of locals who have seen houses, graves and gardens disappear under the turbulent and reddish waters.
