Let us love
Achilles
The great hero of the Trojan war, invulnerable excepting his famous weak heel, was one of the most arrogant characters of the greek mythology. It was a male shieldbearer who finally broke through the warrior’s romantic defenses, especifically, his sidekick Patroclus.
Sure, this myths are full of gay and bisexual gods, and even though I usually don't write of male gods (let alone men at all), in the context of Pride Month, here is a brief introduction to this warrior, who reminds me terribly of one of my friends.
Achilles has a hard exterior, being so strong and so powerful. The only thing that weakens him is his heel... And love, the only thing that can make us both weak and strong at the same time. A universal feeling that makes no distinction of language, distance or gender.
Let us all love and be loved. May we fall, let us pick ourselves up. May we lose the battle, let us win the war. And whatever we lack, let it never be love. Let us love. Ourselves first, our siblings, our family, our friends, our planet, our partners. Never waste time in hate, for it is the most toxic feeling ever known. Spread the love, let's save humanity.
