The Bird is the Word
Caught this guy while exploring the Portland waterfront. Locals will tell you the river here is pronounced "Willamette, dammit!". Before the 1960s, the land that is now the waterfront park consisted of a poorly built, early era freeway connecting US 99 (Interstate 5 today) to downtown Portland. Today that has all been forgotten and replaced by one of the largest waterfront parks in the country.
