Mykonos (Greece)- Less is More!
Mykonos- "Less is More"
Before diving into this post writing, I would like to thank the Steemit community for showing so much love to my first post (Swimming in clear waters!!! :) Therefore, this post on Mykonos is a "Thank You" to all the members who voted my first post.
I will tell you guys a little secret about myself, but shshshsh... ;) I was one of those lucky people that studied in mesmerizing Greece. As you can guess, you will see plenty of pictures from this beautiful country on my Blog! Once you visit the country, it stays in your heart forever and ever. And this is what happened to me too!
The food, the wine, the people, the music, the history, the amazing landscapes, and those hundreds days of clear sunny skies! What else would you need to be happy? Maybe a frappe, the typical coffee that locals drink twice per day when chilling by the seaside with their parea (greek word for a group of friends) ... sometimes for three hours straight.
Once you experience this, you definitely understand why Socrates spent most of his life wrapped into a white sheet, sitting on a big stone and coming up with such great philosophical concepts :D
Greece has 6,000 islands and islets and Mykonos is one of the most well- known and most visited islands of the country (some education never hurt anybody :).
The buildings of the island cannot be higher than two floors, always must be painted in white color and windows & doors must be painted in blue or red color. It seems to be too restrictive, but you would not think so anymore once you visited it and felt the beauty of the unified architecture design.
Mykonos is part of the Cyclades group of islands that is comprised of 56 islands, which are located in the Aegean Sea. The island itself took its name from the grandson of Apollo, “Mykonos” and according to Greek Mythology, it was formed from the petrified bodies of giants killed by Hercules.
Nowadays, Mykonos is well- known for parties that last until 8 a.m, delicious food, wind- power energy, beautiful beaches and a wide gay friendly community :)
And here's an upvote for you, enjoy!
Thank you @fitzgibbon! Really liking your meme work :) Keep it up
Beautiful photos again. I loved Greece, though I didn't get to go to Mykonos. Guess I have an excuse to go back!
