The Souks of Dubai
These are pictures I took from a Souk (Marketplace) in Dubai, UAE. The souks are a very cool place to barter and buy souvenirs of all kinds. It is very much like a flea market with tons of small shops willing to negotiate on anything you would wish to buy and you can find some really interesting stuff. I hope you enjoy the photos and thank you for checking out my blog feel free to comment if you have any questions.
These are portraits of a couple of princes that were very beautifully done.
Here are a few small trinkets and some beautiful helmets. I actually purchased the helmet with the black horse hair plume.
These are a couple really cool elephants carved out of fish and camel bone and have very intricate detail.
The multi leveled souk had beautiful woodwork and I thought the architecture was amazing.
Beautiful corridors with stained glass windows at the end were just stunning.
The lighting of this souk just made the beautiful woodwork stand out magnificently.
Here is a closer view of the incredible stained glass windows at the end of the corridors.
Closer look at one of the elephants from before. My friend actually purchased this elephant and we nicknamed it the "Elephant of Souls" due to it being made up of people.
This shop was a dreamland for fans of the adventures of TinTin.
These three photos are some more angles of the elephant of souls. Fun fact is that everyone staying in the room with my buddy that purchased this elephant began having nightmares and they forced him to ship it home.
Here are some more of the Adventures of TinTin statues.
This was very strange to find a statue of Adolf Hitler in one of the shops.
The Adolf Hitler statue was accompanied by this Nazi bust which just shows the types of strange and interesting things you can find while exploring the souks and they should definitely be on your list of stops if you're ever traveling the middle east.
Awesome photos
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed them. It was definitely a cool place and awesome experience
