Kuakata

Kuakata,also known as daughter of sea. It is the most beautiful tourism area in Bangladesh. The name Kuakata originated from the word 'kua' — the Bengali word for "well" which was dug on the seashore by the early Rakhine settlers in quest of collecting drinking water. It situated is Barishal Division Kalapara upazila, Patuakhali district.
In 18th century when Mughal emperor Aurangzeb attacked Arakan then most of the Rohingya people migrated here. But they did not get the fresh drinkable water and the sea water salty. Then they build a well (kua).
