I had a hard time shooting this bird with my D80 before. The bird run fast and get spooke easy and dive inside grass. now, with D7100 I finally have a shots :)

Ah, the white breasted waterhen. Amourornis phoenicurus. Looks a bit like a road runner, from your description, it acts like one to.
