2018 Nikon Surf Photo of the Year

Each year, Nikon and Surfing Australia team up to showcase the most outstanding images captured by Australian surf photographers for the year.

They short listed 20 "surf-themed" images and judged them on the following criteria...

  • Innovation and creativity
  • Dramatic affect and sensory impact
  • Uniqueness
  • Composition of the photo

As you can see from the shortlist images below, choosing a winner would be a difficult task but Trent Mitchell won this years award for his image Unbound.
