The diary game: blue sky

There is nothing quite as picturesque as an expanse of blue sky which is acknowledged to stand for tranquility, serenity or freedom. It occurs as a result of the scattering of sunlight by the earth’s atmosphere where the blue wavelengths of light are scattered more than the other colors. The outcome is a deep blue covering the heavens especially in the afternoons. Its hues are believed to evoke peace and amazement while at the same time providing a perspective from which one can appreciate other forms of weather such as clouds or the sunshine. To speak of the blue sky, it could either be the rich charcoal blue at 12 noon or lighter shades during the rising and setting of the sun, it is hard to deny the refreshing ability of a blue sky hinting one of mother nature herself. This has also served as motivation to many poets, painters and idealists. Looking at that vast arch of open sky one is struck at how small and bustling life below is and feels compelled to stop, come up for air and wonder at the beautiful, simple yet grand world surrounding us. It is of this infinite magnitude that promotes fantasies of limitless dreams and the quest for uncharted territories.
