Waiting in the wings - opossum for breakfast
I saw this cheery scene on the way to work yesterday morning.
The most ambitious one actually grabbed the opossum by the tail and tried to pull it up that small embankment.
Every time a car passed by on their side of the road, most of them flew up into that tree.
... except for one of two really hungry ones!
It made me realize that I forgot to eat breakfast 😱

We usually just get the turkey buzzards with the red heads, but these black buzzards are making a name for themselves lately here in the badlands of the East.
That's a lot of buzzards. They'll have to draw lots on the little possum. They are fun to watch, and amazingly large up close. Thanks for sharing the boids.
I guess those buzzards didn't see the "no hunting" sign on the tree right behind them 🙃
They're obviously above the law!!!
