Kurtuluş savaşı sırasında Rumların yaşam sürmüş oldukları yerlerin başında bulunan Gölyazı Köyü ardından mübadele yolu ile Türklerin eline de geçmeyi başarmış bulunuyor. Köy girişinin arka kısmında ise antik bir kent bulunmakta ve gelen ziyaretçiler de görebilmektedir. Bölge sit alanına sahiptir. Köy meydanına geldiğiniz de ise tarihi çınar ağaçlarını kahvehane ve camileri göreceksiniz. Uluabat gölü içerisinde yer alan bu müthiş adayı görmenizi şiddetle tavsiye ederim.

The village of Gölyazı, which is at the beginning of the places where the Greeks lived during the War of Independence, has succeeded in passing the Turks by way of mutual exchange. At the back of the village entrance there is an ancient city and you can see the coming sight. The area has a protected area. When you come to the village square, you will see the historic plane trees in the cafes and the glass houses. I strongly recommend you to see this terrific island in Uluabat.
