Sunrise From Poon Hill: A Blissful Experience
Every day it rises. It is as inevitable as the impending death that surrounds everything. Perhaps, it is even better because we do not associate fear with it but rather glory and beauty. And so, we wait. We wait patiently. As patiently as a predator waits for its prey for what else is the sunrise to these thirsty eyes? But will it be as quenching as expected. Or will it leave us all in a pool of disappointment leaving our heart sunk to our stomach and drowning in our fear for nothingness. We do not know. We will find out when it comes out. And what we will witness will be the truth. It will be existence. But no matter how one may be eager for witnessing existence, nothing is sweeter than the hope for a better existence.
I cannot believe it’s finally here. The light. The light for which I walked an entire day relentlessly and climbed the most I have ever climbed. I see it. I see it slowly unveil itself like a shy bride on the day of her marriage. Teasing ever so gently, it dances in front of my eyes and tickles my consciousness. Everything I have done to get here is now worth it. I want time to freeze at this very moment like the snow around me so that I can capture this time and place in eternity. And I do not fear being frozen when I wish for it for I know the sun will melt away all the cold that surrounds us and bring the warmth to the physical as it has to the emotional part of us.
