Travel photo archives: Paddlewheel graveyard
Across the Yukon river from Dawson City lie the abandoned, decaying remains of several of the Paddlewheel boats that plied the river in bygone days.
These days the river routes have mostly been replaced by road travel. However to get between Dawson City and the boat graveyard at the back of the campground it is necessary to cross backwards and forwards by a modern ferry as there is no bridge over the Yukon here.
Once all these abandoned ships looked a lot more like this:
