Amaryllis , is a beautyfull African plant with huge trumpet flowers .

Today i wanted to share some pictures of my Amaryllis , it is the name of a plant that knows his origins in Africa . When the plant gets into flowering , superbig flowers ( 3 or 4 flowers ) grow on a stem in the shape of a trumpet . They are multiple sorts , and so you can find them in different colour's .

The flowering period is about 3 to 4 months what is nice to have them in the house or terras as you can admire them for a long time before they vanish , after that happens you can cut the flowers away but let the leafs on the plant and give water with some fertalizer each 2 weeks , never let the soil get to dry .

Amaryllis likes a sunny warm place with a lot of light , after 6 months you can cut off the leafs and put the bol on a 10 ° celsius colder place . This way you can let the plant make new flowers . You can also choose to let it in the flowerpot en next year the plant will have multiplied and you will see little bols with new plants that emerge . Best is to take a pot that is heavy enough and a bigger size then that i used .

Iff you let them get big enough you gan give away as a gift to somebody close to you it's a very nice present to give and to get and with the right care a gift for life ...
