Ingleton Falls

While it might not always be possible to jump on a plane and explore different countries and cultures, it's important to take advantage of the natural beauty that is right on our doorstep, or in this case and hour and a half away in North Yorkshire.

Ingleton Falls is a situated in the village of Ingleton (who knew!) and is a 4.3 mile (7km) circular route. The last time i had been i was very young and myself, my boyfriend and our friends decided in the summer that a nice long walk would do us good somewhere a bit different and the greenery and varied waterfalls would make for some great photo opportunities, we took the dogs along too of course.

Looks like money does grow on Trees!

The trail has lots of narrow paths and steps that weave around the waterfalls, try to be aware of your surroundings as its easy to trip up or slip of the wet floor if you're a bit clumsy like me.

The circuit is supposed to take around 2 hours to get around, but of course that depends on your pace. There is a picnic area about half way through where you can buy hotdogs and refreshments etc, we took a picnic with us just to keep cost down.

Dogs are allowed but need to be kept on leads most of the time as there are a lot of steep edges so of course accidents would easily happen, as I'm sure most Collie owners know they are quite excitable dogs and a leisurely walk just was not on the cards for us, so we had to be extra careful and try and keep them from pulling as much as possible. There were a few parts of the walk that were just open fields and streams so we did let them have a little freedom around those areas.

This particular waterfall was very popular, you could climb around the edge and walk behind it. It was slippy and steep to get to and i was absolutely terrified the whole time and was moving at snails pace as i may have a tiny fear of open heights :/

I highly recommend visiting this place if you are looking for an outdoor activity that will last you a couple of hours, i believe it is about £6 for an adult pass. At the end of the trail you can make a short walk into the village where there is a lovely little Dog friendly pub for you to get a well deserved beverage and a bite to eat.
