This kindly fellow cooked our meals at Dhamma Pokhara, a Vipassana meditation center located just outside of Pokhara in Nepal. I was there as a server, meaning – I was supporting women who were sitting in 10 days of silent meditation. As such, I had the privilege of spending time with this man and the sweet, elderly ladies who prepared each meal.

The food was simple, vegetarian fare, yet you could taste the care that went into it. Truly nourishing.

Wow great shot!
Any revelations during vipassana? :)

Glad you like it! 🙏🏼 I wasn’t sitting during this time — was taking care of 14 women who were. I have sat myself, however — 3 times. The first time, especially, was life-changing.

This is such a good shot. Love Nepal.

Thanks @intrepidphotos! I do, too and have been missing it (and India) so much these last two weeks. I have nearly 20,000 photos from my year long trip there and, since my return in late 2010, I've barely scratched the surface of that collection. Steemit has given me an excellent reason and incentive to dig in with gusto.

Yes for sure. I have also been disillusioned with social media. Hoping this represents a new model for photographers.

Another amazing shot!! Following you for more great posts ;)

Pokhara, such a beautiful lake ans scenery there! Did you ever do 10 days of silent Vipassana yourself? I've considered it, but haven't yet commited to it... Must be worth it though...
