Australian Wildlife

in #photofeed7 years ago (edited)

We made it to Australia! We've been staying at a motor inn next to Monash University in Melbourne, where we've been learning a lot about the unique endemic wildlife here in Australia as well as the aboriginal culture and some of the politics relating to early European colonization. Yesterday we took a bus ride to spend the afternoon at the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary, where we got to see some of Australia's most famous and endangered animals. My favorite was the bilby, an adorable marsupial which I actually got to feed by hand. Unfortunately they're nocturnal animals so I wasn't able to get any shots in their dark enclosure.
