Tents in beautiful places- a glimpse of this past year's camping trips (Album)

Home for the night.

Thankfully I've had many over the last year. In the summer of 2017 I made one of the better decisions of my life.. get into backpacking. It has shaped me as a person and a photographer and fully solidified my love for this planet. And with prime backpacking season coming up, I figured I'd give you a little look into what's to come.

Here are some of the magnificent places I've called home.

The Oregon Coast. This was the most recent. Driving south to escape the grey winter in Seattle, I found refuge here. One of my favorite spots, ever.

Back in the summer heat I slept next to one of the most overwhelming mountains in the states. Mount Rainier, 14k+ feet tall. One of the most prominent peaks in the country and an impressive sight.

From autumn, camped amongst the golden Larch trees of the Cascade Mountains, in Washington. A vibrant color palette and a perfect weather window made for an amazing time..

A quick jaunt out to the beaches of Olympic National Park, this past December. Fell asleep to the sound of the waves..

Slept amongst the beautiful lakes by Rampart Ridge, in the Central Cascade Mountains. This is a popular spot, and we were not alone. I don't mind neighbors every now and again..

Nestled between the peaks of the rugged North Cascades National Park. Taken on the first real fall day of the season. A light dusting of snow, ripe huckleberries and fall colors.. a perfect time.

A week later, across the highway on the other side of the pass. This one was tough. 26 miles rountrip for a one night stay. But the snow and the larch trees were amazing, and totally worth it.

A harder to find spot.. and a good one. We were the only ones here. Pure solitude.

One of the crazier lakes I've seen. Found it on a map. Glad I did..

Same place. Somebody elses camp, from high above on a ridgeline. Stayed up there and watched the sun go down..

Needless to say I'm beyond excited for this upcoming season. I will be traveling more and visiting other mountain ranges around the states. Will be jobless and homeless for all of summer.. a planned move. Stoked.

Hope we get to do a camp trip this year... if you have any plans near Utah let me know. I focus a tad more on Mountain overlanding/offroad trips. But I have been known to do a few overnight backpack trips if the location is awesome. haha

Hi @nathanielwise, I just stopped back to let you know your post was one of my favourite reads and I included it in my Paddling Nature Ramble. You can read what I wrote about your post here.

The yellow and grey (?) tent is more luckier than me. It has been a witness to beautiful places.

These are extremely beautiful photos! I love that you are taking the bold move of doing what you love! @nathanielwise
