Warning - Curation Trails disabled because of bandwidth issues
Hello everyone!
So just when we are ready to make the most out of curation trails for the @photofeed project, the network is experiencing issues. @timcliff wrote a good piece explaining why this is occuring. You can read about it here.
In the meanwhile, what it means for us is that the steemauto service cannot be relied on for me to follow the votes of @photofeed (30minutes later). This shouldn't discourage you from signing up to steemauto or participating to the #phtofeed tag. I know the guys at Steemit are working hard to solve this issue.
The solution we came up with is that when @photofeed resteem your photo, I will upvote it with a generous upvote. In some ways, @photofeed will become a kind of "curated" version of the #photofeed tag.
Want to be resteemed?
Follow the example of @dmytrokorol here not only did he took an amazing shot but he also shared his settings!
Like this:
Setting | Value |
---|---|
Camera | Sony NEX-6 |
Lens | Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS |
Focal Length | 16mm |
Apature | ƒ8 |
ISO | 400 |
Shutter | 2.5 s |
This indicates to us that you know what you are doing and that it is your original photography.
PS: We've seen people starting to post non-photography stuff under that #photofeed...hoping for an upvote. Please don't do that. @photofeed as a policy to not flag...but I'm personally short of patience for people who abuse this tag that we've just launched.

I knew people would start doing this , I guess it’s time to pull out the guns and start a flag war . Thanks for the update on the camera lens part
I agree with you @journeyoflife, some cleaning up need to be done to curb the abusers.
The flag war is really going to be intense.
Flagging aggressively seems like the only way to get traction on that issue.
Flagging might be the only issue. However, maybe you guys should leave a comment with a warning first? Something that tells them to not use this tag for photos that are not their own, or else they will get flagged the next time.
that would be best; a warning first before flagging.
I believe a warning first before flagging down would be just fine just to clarify our conscience.
We have faith on steemit and Steemians. Hope everything will settle soon. I request to all not to spoil the tag #photofeed. Show your talent in photography and earn rewards for that. Thanks
This is just a step to making sure that the community is a better place.
Sunset on the White Lake by @dmytrokorol is beautiful. I believe that at some point, those who abuse photofeed tag should be flagged, specially when they were being warned.
Exactly what i feel also.
It seems many of the upvoting systems are having issues....
I am hoping this is a temporary situation....
The last few days I had to manually upvote your posts....It isnt the end of the world, just makes it tough to stay up on..
I have to go through and make sure I didnt miss any.
Thanks for the update.
I guess the problem is still on.
I just believe that if you are assisting a newbie to see his or her way around you should be able to lecture that person about the right tag to use for various kind of post....let the change start from you..
I trust the guys at steemit to get things fixed ...
It seems you're really serious about having a 'clean' photography tag. I appreciate your hard work. I browse for nice photos during my free time and this tag is a big help. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Congratulations to you also.
Ok, I'll manually upvote your posts as well, since the autovote for your fans is disabled too
Lol, you should take it easy. It might not be the way it sounds.
found a little mistake to fix
I thought as much
Give a human an inch, they would wanna take a yard
Reason i asked in your last post
If the curation was done manually or autovotes
