I went to the local bazaar last Sunday and this is what I photographed

in #photofeed7 years ago (edited)

Mostly any city in Romania, even villages, organize or have these local bazaars, or fairs. Some are the result of special town days, like The Harvest Day, or The Days of the city, or the autumn days where you will gorge on lamb meat, pork meat and drink local Romanian drinks until you burst or sleep it off, drunk, into a ditch. :)

But there are some bazaars, like the one in Ploiesti city, which are regularly held, every weekend, and their merchandise is...variated. That means from used socks, cables, boots to cows, horses, grains and to computer boards and alike. Literally, everything that can be sold is there. Of course, all boiled in the smoke of the barbeques and booze. All kind of people you see there, various economic status, from beggars who sells scraps found in trash cans to normal people that tries to buy and catch good prices on little things. I went there to try to find old film cameras and lenses, as there are plenty to be found in the bazaar. And I found myself a Zenit camera, Russian grade of course, with a nice Zenit 55mm f2 lens with a beautiful bokeh effect. Now I have two. :)

Bellow, you will find a little photo-diary of my incursion into the depths of the bazaar. I hope you enjoy them!

Interesting photos, love the expressions on the faces. Photos are so much better I think when they are spontaneous and not posed.
I see evidence of mobile phone use...whatever did we do before we had them? 😀

Thank you, kat! Indeed I was looking after authentic expressions and not fake posed ones. I kept my camera at waist level mostly. I didn't want to be too invasive. Related to mobile phones.. I really think they stole something from us. I will gladly go back to land lines, just to get rid of this mobile phone addiction. :) Followed.

I love bazaars, one can find some brilliant bargains there.

@ananuaremere brought me here from their resteem. Really glad I looked! I enjoyed the write up and your photos are really good. Your candids of people were my favorites.
