The black-shouldered kite (Elanus axillaris)

Hi guys, so yesterday I went to a local birding spot called Strandfontein and I came across this beautiful black shouldered kite!

At first he was sitting in the tree for about 10 minutes I sat there waiting for him to take flight and I got this picture just as he was about to take off.

Then he decided to fly around looking for something to eat, they have a diet of mainly small rodents, like rats and mice.
