Kerkhof Peucut, Aan Onze Kameraden Gevallen op het Veld van Eer
'Aan Onze Kameraden Gevallen op het Veld van Eer', Dutch language text is carved on the top of the gate of the 'Kerkhof Peucut' cemetery, can be interpreted 'For our friends who died in battlefield'.
Kerkhof Peucut is the grave complex of the Dutch soldiers who died in the Aceh War and the largest outside the Netherlands, built in 1893. They are heroes of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but vice versa for us. There are 2200 names immortalized here, 35 of which are Royal Navy soldiers, and 118 other names are officers.
