Glasgow Magic - Long Exposure Light Painting

Nipped up to Scotland this weekend for a bit of light painting with the glaswegian crew who took me to an underpass they knew which 'has one or two inches of water when it rains'.

Once we got there it rapidly turned out that was an understatement with the water regularly approaching the full height of my wellies! Light painting is remarkably hard when you can't put your tools down and you are worried about moving too fast in case you generate a bow wave 😂

Anyway, balancing on the concrete was fine so I span a couple of orbs using a traffic wand and then changed to a calligraphy tool and digital light wand for the central motif / runes.

Then a bit of coloured light on the roof and pillars and job done.

So beautiful. I love the details. Amazing work. 🤗

Thanks mate. It's hard light painting when you're worried about falling backwards into a massive puddle!

Being a light painter sometimes means living at the limit.😂
How many attempts do you need on average with such complex images?

This one was first time out of the camera. Its not actually a particularly complex image in reality as it is just a bunch of stuff I already know how to do, chucked together in a single image.

New techniques on the other hand can take 20 attempts before I finally get what I'm looking for or give up!

Very impressive and as I know you, you have never given up.😉

Cool Tom, I thought that this was the abandoned seminary you'd walked in to. It's on my "to do" list :-)

Been locked up unfortunately mate. Apparently they've put fences round all the drops inside the building and a fence to stop you getting in 😭😭😭
