Subatomic kitchen - lightpainting at home with a fibre optic brushsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #photocircle5 years ago

Another rainy night in and no chance to lightpaint outside leads me to work in my kitchen in the dark....

For this shot I used a www.lightpaintingbrushes.com fibre optic brush with the excellent adapter connected to a flashlight. I fixed the flashlight to a tripod stand and let the fibre optics fall naturally in to shape. I then pointed a macro lens at the fibres and practice various random camera rotations and focus points for various effects. I don't generally start with a plan for these kinds of shots, I just make it up as I go along. Once I see something that worked, I'll combine it with something else like, in this case, an Ikea Gamsebo bulb:

And for this shot, I rotated the Gamsebo bulb, First I exposed it "static" then rotated the camera and capped the lens before it made a complete circuit.

I've been calling these kinds of shots, "SOOK" as in straight outta the kitchen because they literally were created in my kitchen!

About me: I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
