The Demands of Morality
In my opinion, being moral or righteous does not underscore practicing STRICT self denial as a measure of spiritual discipline, or being servile to a long list of regulation or a sophisticated doctrine.
You're distant from it, if you've not made a personal decision to treat all humans- irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation- with love, affection and regard.
Morality does not demand that you live an ascetic life like your religious books tell you to, it simply demands that you relate to all humans with love and respect.
You're a moral person if you do not consciously hurt or harm the next person. Love is love.
I find it interesting that many cultures and religions the world over teach a morality that is commonly called "The Golden Rule":
"Treat others the way you want to be treated."
This seems to belong to a common body of wisdom that wasn't created, but discovered.
Absolutely. There's a basic truth in that rule.
For me, treating everyone with love and respect would be a more universal standard.
I agree with you.
True words, your thoughts go straight to the bone, "no pun intended" lol. I enjoyed reading this. we are all one
Lol. Thank you bro. We are all one.
It is amazing that so many people have difficulty with something so simple. That image says it all! Bravo for your wonderful words!
Thanks so much. I appreciate your remark, and I'm glad you comprehended well.
A great reminder. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you for dropping by.
Yes, love is love and to love is about tolerating and understanding.
While being morally superior doesn't mean you are good at love. Love is about how you care about those close and important to you.
Exactly bro. Thanks for your remarks.
This is so on point.
It is a common human failing to take religious adherence as a sign of high morality, and then use it to disguise some personal prejudice, and then subsequently bully, persecute or wage war against those who don't agree with you.
Precisely the point my post intends to make. People falsely think that being servile to religious laws symbolises morality, i quickly had to address that.
Thanks for your remark
