It's a story as old as mankind itself..."Bread & Circuses" my friend...As long as there's the NFL!!! I've wondered for decades why media...particularly the medium of television that has the opportunity to create the most educated populace on Earth- gives us drivel that declines in intellectual quality. Then I figured it out- it's just part of the plan!
Part of the plan - absolutely - tell them they like drivel, served with drivel and they will become drivelists.
Because it's profitable.
And I'm not anti market economy, anti-capitalism, but it is what it is. What gets sold is what ends up being bought.
And it's the consumers who are responsible in the end.
