So what are your thoughts on Prof. Nisbitt's book? I prefer a fusion of Western and Eastern thought. I like the individualism of the west but I think it must be combined with the east's knowledge of interdependence as reflected in Yin and Yang.
I think the book was excellent. I have an Asian background, but lived most of my life in the Netherlands and I can relate to many of his findings. I feel the same as you do, I also like the individualism of the West. But I also like the inclusiveness of the East and the emphasis on interdependence.
I will post a follow-up later on about more differences between Asian and Western thinking and behaviour.
